Zoff in the 3rd league! DFB puts pressure on the demolition clubs – football

Now the collar is bursting!

After Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia recently banned third division play and clubs such as Halle, Magdeburg and Jena did not want to play at all, the association is now putting pressure on those who want to drop out!

DFB Vice Dr. Rainer Koch (61): “Some of the clubs in the 3rd division have been playing an unworthy spectacle for football in Germany for weeks. This is unbearable and no longer tolerated. All those who are vehemently pursuing a season break must finally provide answers as to what their concrete alternatives are and whether they are willing to take responsibility for the serious economic and structural consequences. ”

Therefore, the DFB bosses demand that the clubs that do not want to play develop a concept: “This includes the promotion and relegation regulations as well as practical suggestions on how the 3rd league should play in the future as a professional league and conduct the coming season would.”

In addition, the clubs should bear the costs: “In this context, the Conference of Presidents expects that any payment obligations of the DFB in connection with a self-chosen termination of the season in terms of damages and recourse would be borne by the clubs of the 3rd division.”
