Zigmārs Liepiņš, known 20 years ago on the TV show “Talentu Fabrika”, with the stage name Zix, has decided to resume his singing career and published a new song “Kad tevis nav”. If someone doesn’t remember this guy, let’s remind you that he and Don were at the epicenter of events at that time, fighting for Lily’s attention.
The author of the song “Kad tevis nav” and the initiator of the recording is Gatis Mūrnieks, who writes songs for many well-known performers, as well as helping new names appear. It has an introduction in the spirit of “A-Europa” and also stylistically it brings to mind the band of Artūrs Dubok, while the video version will surely go to the hearts of those who like… cats.
“The song tells about a relationship in which one cannot survive without the other even when one has to go to the store or take the dog out. Without talking, of course, about being separated for several days or forever. Longing is a very sad thing, memories come to mind even of the simplest walk in the evening under the lanterns, but there is always hope to meet again someday,” Gatis Mūrnieks explains the idea of the song.
After participating in the musical show “Talent Factory” in 2003, Zix performed as a solo artist, released an album, and also tried his hand as a soloist of the group “Forte”. For a long time, he was no longer engaged in music, working abroad, but now he is back in Latvia.
“One evening, Gatis sent me a message that he wanted to compose a new song for me, as well as play a concert together. He mentioned that he was a fan of mine during the “Talent Factory” days. I knew that anyway, because we have known each other for many years,” laughs Zix. “We played a crowded concert in Jelgava Kreklos and then we realized that we have to continue working together. Now I’ve got a new song!”
