Zeljko Petrovic shops in Venlo: Van Bruggen leaves VVV and goes on an adventure

Damian van Bruggen embarks on a Croatian adventure. NK Inter Zapresic will be the new employer of brand new ex-VVV tourist, the Noord-Limburgers announce through the official channels on Saturday evening.

Van Bruggen went through Ajax’s youth academy, then moved to PSV and settled in De Koel in 2017. The central defender – who can also manage in midfield – would actually leave his contract at the end of the season, but will leave six months earlier. In Croatia he signed for a year and a half at the club where Zeljko Petrovic has recently been head coach. “VVV-Venlo congratulates Damian on his transfer, thanks him for his commitment to the club and wishes him every success with his new club.”

The 23-year-old Utrechter is the first player to leave the VVV during the winter transfer period. The club did hire a new trainer in the person of Hans de Koning and hired Oussama Darfalou from Vitesse. VVV will resume the competition on Sunday afternoon with a home match against PSV.
