The situation in the hottest areas of military action – Donetsk and Luhansk region – was discussed at a staff meeting of the commander in chief on Monday.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his next video speech, quoted by “Ukrinform”.
“Today I held a regular meeting of the headquarters. The main attention was paid to the situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the ones that are now the hottest. Bakhmut and Soledar, Kremina and Svatovo, the general prospects in Donbass for the next weeks. The battle for Donbas continues. Although the invaders have now concentrated their greatest efforts on Soledar, the result of this difficult and long battle will be the liberation of all of our Donbass,” President Zelensky said in his latest speech.
The president thanked all the Ukrainian servicemen who defend Bakhmut, demonstrating extraordinary resistance, and Soledar’s troops, who resist new and even more determined attacks.
“It is extremely difficult – there are almost no whole walls left… Thanks to the resistance of our fighters there, in Soledar, we have gained additional time and additional strength for Ukraine. What did Russia want to achieve there? Everything is completely destroyed, not almost no lives are left. Thousands of people have been lost: the whole land near Soledar is covered with the corpses of the occupiers and the scars of the blows. That’s what the madness is like,” Zelensky stressed.
He also thanked all Ukrainian defenders for each breakthrough in other areas of the front line, for the gradual advance – very careful, calculated and therefore absolutely reliable.
As noted, Ukraine complements new assets and combat equipment received from partnersin its defense system.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure that there is as little time as possible between agreeing on additional support and using that support on the battlefield,” the president said.
We remind you that one day before Zelensky said the most difficult situation on the front is in Bakhmut and Soledar. The Ukrainian military redeployed additional units to strengthen the defenses in this area.
