The head of state believes that everything is happening legally, and there are no grounds for speculation in this matter.
The decision to terminate the Ukrainian citizenship of businessman Gennady Korban is legal. This was announced on Thursday, July 28, during a briefing with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda by President Volodymyr Zelensky, reports Ukrinform.
The President noted that he sees no reason for speculation in this matter.
“Firstly, there are no speculations. We regularly grant citizenship of our state or deprive it. This is an ongoing process and everything happens constantly within the framework of the current legislation,” Zelensky said in response to a question about the possibility of reviewing the decision to terminate the citizenship of Ukraine Korban or explanation of the motives for its adoption in order to avoid speculation.
Earlier, the media published a scan of the allegedly unsigned Presidential Decree on the termination of the citizenship of Korban, Igor Kolomoisky, Vadim Rabinovich and a number of persons. The formal reason for the termination of citizenship was their voluntary acquisition of citizenship of another country. However, this information has not been officially confirmed.
Recall that last week the politician and one of the leaders of the defense of Dnepropetrovsk Gennady Korban, border guards at the entrance to Ukraine did not let him throughdue to deprivation of citizenship. Employees of the State Border Service took away the passport from the businessman.
