“After this Russian war against Ukraine, there should be no smoldering or frozen conflict left. Ukraine should return everything that Russia temporarily seized, and the aggressor state should be punished for the crime of aggression,” Zelensky said.
According to the head of state, this is important not only because of justice. Only the obvious loss of the aggressor and his international legal responsibility for aggression are safeguards against any new war.
He also noted that Ukrainian diplomats, officials and everyone involved in organizing a response to Russian aggression are working on such an end to the war. But, of course, the biggest contribution now to the end of the war is being made by the Ukrainian military, who are breaking down the Russian terrorist machine on the battlefield.
