Not only Giovanni Zarrella is a guest in the ZDF television garden on Mother’s Day, but also the rabbit Manfred and his rabbit shop colleagues: That doesn’t go down well with everyone.

Mainz – You could almost take the Mother’s Day edition of the ZDF television garden for an Easter edition: Because the undisputed stars at the start of the show’s season are a group of fluffy four-legged friends, led by the rabbit Manfred.

But they are not pulled out of the hat by the magician Hans Klok. At the beginning of the show, he preferred to stay with a scantily clad blonde as an accompaniment. With a blonde hair-dryer, Klok reminded some viewers of Carmen Geiss, Hansi Hinterseer or Vincent Raven.

Instead, trainer Armin brought the little four-legged friends with him to take them to the Kaninhopto let the “rabbit show jumping” compete against each other. The sport is becoming more and more popular in Germany, explains presenter Andrea Kiwel alias Kiwi enthusiastically in the Sunday show on ZDF, there is now even a federal commissioner for rabbits.

Kaninhop: Unruly rabbits in the ZDF television garden – gold or animal cruelty?

Some viewers are enthusiastic about the animal contribution and are happy about the sweet sight of the little balls of fur that hop more or less happily over the brightly painted mini obstacles. “Can you please show the rabbits again!” Begs a Twitter user. Another viewer is happy “The rabbits are so cute!” And sends a series of hearts afterwards. The stubborn Manfred, who jumps away from his human companion and just doesn’t really want to participate, ensures the greatest sympathy.

But not everyone is happy about the fluffy goings-on. Isn’t that cruelty to animals? Shouldn’t Manfred be allowed to jump around freely in a meadow? “You can see how much ‘fun’ the rabbits have with it!” Writes a Twitter user with an emphatic irony. A concerned viewer worries about the well-being of the four-legged friends: “You haven’t done yourself a favor with the rabbits jumping over the pole, dear @ZDF. You can’t talk about welfare while letting the poor animals hop over obstacles that don’t exist in the wild. “

Other viewers just wondered what they were watching. “In 2021 I’ll watch rabbits show jumping. THAT’S A CALL FOR HELP, ”writes a desperate viewer.

Nothing to laugh about? – The season start of the ZDF Fernsehgarten on Mother’s Day

If you lost the laugh at the rabbit show, another entertainment point of the show could perhaps change your mind again. Because Kiwi stopped by a laugh yoga troupe in the second half of the ZDF show.
