Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant Units Shut Down for Maintenance with Strict Safety Standards: Director

All units of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant have been shut down, the equipment is serviced in accordance with all necessary regulations with strict control of radiation safety standards.

This was announced by the director of ZNPP Yuri Chernichuk. His statement publishes official Telegram channel of the energy company.

“The staff of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is doing everything necessary to ensure nuclear safety. There are no grounds for concern. All blocks are stopped, the statement says.

It is also noted that the decision of the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky on the evacuation concerns the temporary movement of certain categories of citizens. It is associated primarily with concern for the psychological state of children.

“Families with children are encouraged to travel outside the city for a short time to quieter places prepared for living. All this will be done in an organized manner and under strict control.” – assured the director of ZNPP.

He stressed that there is no need to evacuate the station staff and residents of the city now and urged everyone to remain calm.

Previously EADaily reported that FSB operatives prevented a terrorist attack by agents of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) against one of the leaders of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
