British Matt Nadin treats viewers to his YouTube channel Finders Beepers History Seekers regularly on videos of homes in an advanced state of disrepair. He is an urban explorer, those are people who have made it their hobby to visit and portray abandoned buildings. In his most recent video, he explores a special building: the old villa of Gabrielle Bonheur ‘Coco’ Chanel.
The so-called Rosehall Estaten near Lairg, Scotland, which has 22 rooms, was home to the iconic Chanel designer in the 1920s. She often hosted famous guests, including her good friend her friend Winston Churchill, and spent a lot of time with her beloved Hugh Grosvenor, the second Duke of Westminster.

Today the walls of her villa, situated on a domain of 700 hectares, are crumbling. The good news is that after four years on the housing market, the building has been sold for an undisclosed amount to an anonymous family. It may soon be restored.
Before that happened, Nadin slipped in for a moment, looking for traces of the past.
