Youtube is starting to offer “Premium Lite” subscriptions

Youtube has now started testing a cheaper paid subscription, Premium Lite, in several countries such as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, reports The Verge.

Premium Lite costs 6.99 euros a month, or the equivalent in local currency, and gives the user access to an ad-free Youtube via the web, iOS, Android, smart TVs, game consoles and in the Youtube Kids app.

The difference from the more expensive Premium account, which instead costs 11.99 euros a month, is that users do not have access to ad-free listening on Youtube Music, background playback for apps or offline downloads.
