Your electricity network under the watchful eye of Siscodipe

Siscodipus! A hell of a barbaric name, right?

[Rires ] “It is true that elsewhere, we are simply talking about an electricity distribution union. The Intercommunal Syndicate for the Monitoring of the Public Electricity Distribution Concession ( Siscodipe ) du Pays des Trois Frontières was created on October 17, 1994. It brought together 71 municipalities from two districts of Thionville. Today, after the integration of Moyeuvre-Petite, Rédange, the communes of Bouzonvillois, it has 103, or 239,952 inhabitants. And it should, in the years to come, still grow with the membership of small unions located between Thionville and Metz. “

What is his role ?

“The union ensures in particular the proper functioning of the electricity distribution in the municipalities concerned. We control our concessionaire (Enedis) to keep the network in good condition and we negotiate the royalties with him. Unlike all the other unions in Moselle, membership fees are not called upon. “

What are the next investments?

“Enedis invests 10 to 12 million euros each year on the concession. For the next three or four years, Enedis will focus on the Thionville basin to replace the paper cables, and strengthen the network in the Bouzonville area. These investments meet needs. We thus work to maintain a quality of supply. We are also working on the energy transition. We don’t really have this competence, but we want to encourage the municipalities to install charging stations for electric cars. We will have to work with Enedis because the network will have to allow this. “

Exactly, in what state is the electricity network in Moselle Nord?

” In very good shape. But we are never immune to the vagaries of the weather. Nine times out of ten, when there is a problem, it is because an external element, a tree for example, has fallen on a line. “

You have just been re-elected as President of Siscodipus. How is its executive board composed?

“A president elected for six years, four vice-presidents and nine assessors. Since 1is March 2020, it is imperative to be elected in a municipality to be a union delegate. This is the case everywhere in France. “
