New models and a better infrastructure: In 2020, electromobility should continue to pick up speed. Interested parties should pay attention to some details when buying an electric car.
No more gasoline or diesel smell, no annoying vibrations. E-cars have more advantages than just the environmental impact of zero local emissions. This year, new models come onto the market in various price ranges and vehicle categories. But before anyone starts looking for an electric car, there are a few things to consider.
If you are considering buying an electric car, you should first consider how and where the electric car should be charged. “The usage behavior is different from that of combustion engines,” says Stefan Heimlich, Chairman of the German Auto Club Europe (ACE). Electric vehicles are mostly charged at home. In Switzerland, only about 20 percent of e-car loads take place in public spaces, writes the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) on its website.
According to the TCS, there are currently more than 3 in Switzerland’600 charging stations in public spaces with outputs between 3.7 kW (slow charging) and 150 kW (quick charging). “Basically, the faster it has to go, the higher the costs,” writes the TCS. The website “ichtankestrom.ch” from the Federal Office of Energy provides an overview of the public charging stations (type of connection, maximum output) and shows whether they are currently available.
