Xiaomi to Launch New Product Variant, Civi 3 with Dimensity 8200 Ultra Chipset

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Xiaomi will issue a new product variant on the Civi line, Xiaomi Citizen 3. “Xiaomi Civi 3 will be the first mobile phone to launch with Dimensity 8200 Ultra,” according to a report on Weibo on Thursday, May 18, 2023. The chipset is allegedly an overclocked version of the Dimensity 8200 that was launched last December.

Xiaomi seems to be proud of the use of this chip. This can be seen in promotional posts that use a single object with the Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset. There is also a picture of the Civi 3 cell phone looking back but without the cover. It can be seen that the chipset with the 5G connection is placed next to the camera, underneath is the assembled structure in the finished cellphone.

Xiaomi has also confirmed improvements to the image signal processing (ISP). This includes reduced power consumption in the camera application, accelerated shooting speed, and up to 30 new video functions which will be detailed at a later date.

So far, only this news has been officially announced by the company. From the rumor version, previously there was information that the Civi 3 will debut with a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.

As for optics, it is expected that a pair of 32 MP front-facing cameras from the Civi 2 will be brought. In its predecessor, there are 32 MP cameras each with wide and ultra wide angles with 1080p@30/60fps video capabilities.

Meanwhile, the back is expected to get an upgraded 50 MP Sony IMX800 sensor in the main camera. Past video capabilities 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps and 720p@960fps.

In addition, the minimum battery capacity is expected to remain at 4,500 mAh as before with 67W fast charging. At that time, the company promised full charging in 40 minutes.
