WWE TLC 2020 a examen

We are going with a new edition of the PPV’s under examination. This time WWE TLC 2020. Great event, leaving a great taste in the mouth. What a finale.

Last Sunday WWE TLC 2020 was held. The two fights for the two maximum championships were really good. Also, Charlotte Flair returned capturing the gold and The Fiend was reduced to ashes. We value the event more thoroughly, below. Spoiler: passed on a good note.

TLC Match for the WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs AJ Styles

Great opener. Drew held back when the situation had gotten worse. He had, more or less, the combat controlled until The Miz and Morrison entered and complicated the duel for him. Miz came close to taking the title and I almost put my hands on my head. Miz had his chances reduced when Osmos entered the ring. He no longer had a choice. Before the entry of Miz and Morrison, the fight was really good, in my opinion. Dynamism, good spots, despite a somewhat slow start. I think, as a negative point, the excess chairs were used. It was a point against for all the combats.

Miz had before him a magnificent opportunity to take the gold and he sinned from conformity and relaxation. AJ Styles does not look bad, he gave a great fight and did not have much help from his bodyguard. Case aside, the moment when Morrison and Miz entered the ring as if nothing had happened and did not realize that Osmos was ringside with the intention of entering. Miz looks pretty bad and the Money In The Bank briefcase even worse. 7 months. Yes, 7 months. Such a valuable and precious object (in WWE, understand) treated like nothing. It’s as if the MITB PPV didn’t take place. Disaster.

Drew “came out alive” when the wind blew against him. He’s the RAW monarch and it’s going to be interesting to see his Road to WrestleMania. Note: 7.25

Drew McIntyre: winner

He always gives a show. He lost the WWE Championship to Randy Orton, recovered it and continues the same as in his first reign. Brutal the work that the Scotsman does. The fight was complicated by the exchange of The Miz, but he knew how to redirect the situation and retained the title. Next month is Royal Rumble, what rival will Drew have? The Fiend, Randy, AJ himself….? We will see.

AJ Styles: achiever

Few thought about the victory of The Phenomenal One, but between him and Drew there can only be a COMBAT with capital letters. He was ready from the beginning and attacked the champion’s legs with the intention of applying Calf Crushers everywhere. In the final moments, he touched the title on his fingertips, but McIntyre took it upon himself to shatter his dreams. He has a great ally in Osmos.

The Miz: his best virtue became his worst flaw

If Miz is characterized by something, it is by the cunning and mischief he has. He is a born opportunist and the briefcase is his best complement (not counting the mike). He did not know how to take advantage of the weakness of AJ and Drew and fell very easily. Now, without a briefcase to wander aimlessly through RAW …

Campeonato Femenino de SmackDown: Sasha Banks (c) vs Carmella

Of the fights that I liked the least. They didn’t hook me to the duel, although it wasn’t bad at all. For me, the weakest in the show. Sasha is still on his wave and Carmella, progressing. I lacked variety of moves. Lots of Superkick Time Note: 6

Sasha Banks: nobody shadows him

He is very over and nobody coughs him. At some point he threatened his victory, but when he got tired, he ended the duel.

Carmella: Progress properly

He has improved a lot in the ring since his return. It feels safer and looser. I think he overused the Superkicks and his arsenal of moves should be more varied. Still, it was not bad and is on the right track. Perhaps it was also missing that he had broken a bottle of champagne.

Campeonatos por Parejas de RAW: The New Day (c) vs Hurt Business

Of the less interesting fights, a priori, but the result made it worth watching. The New Day with the titles was a story that seemed endless. Let’s hope the story is over (for a long time). It did not last long and little more to add. I forgot. Let’s make a comparison between what Alexander, Lashley and Shelton were before forming Hurt Business with MVP and what they are now. The difference is notorious.

Hurt Business: the reward for long and hard work

Great news this victory of, possibly, the tag team that has made the best progress in the company. The team that attracts me the most in RAW and it is no coincidence. Each member of the group has a characteristic that makes them different from the rest, but which in turn makes them complement each other wonderfully. From the brute strength of Lashley to the intelligence and know-how of MVP, passing through the agility and technique of Cedric and Benjamin. Only Business.

The New Day: the never ending tale

I like New Day, but there comes a time that, from so much stretching the rope, in the end it will break. It is to draw from where there is none. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are wonderful in ring, but they no longer have the freshness and arouse the interest they had before. Little by little they are declining as is logical. Many years commanding a division.

Women’s Tag Team Championships: Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (c) vs Asuka & Charlotte Flair

The return of Charlotte Flair. That overshadowed everything. It’s Charlotte yes. Possibly the best in-ring female superstar in WWE today, but to sell Shayna and Nia in this way is to throw away everything they had achieved on the ground. It seems that Charlotte without a title cannot live. It has become a Grand Slam and Asuka is 2Belts. The fight wasn’t bad, but Charlotte looked like Braun Strowman when he sprinted at ringside. There was no one to stop her and she had no rival in Jax and Baszler. Decaffeinated. Note: 6

Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler: everything to the fret. They had no choice

I was liking his reign with its pluses and minuses, but generally correct. Although the women’s team division has almost no force, they knew how to pull the car. Charlotte came to dismantle the stall and crush them. He played with them. We will see what Nia and Shayna’s path is for WrestleMania. I don’t like a hair.

Asuka: without doing much, it’s already 2Belts

He was in Charlotte’s shadow and I only remind him of a Hip Attack at ringside and a Dropkick on Nia. Nothing more relevant. The Japanese has been without prominence in the red brand for a long time and, now, with Charlotte she will have even less. What saves him is that he is a champion with her.

Charlotte: triumphant return

This is called “reaching out and kissing the saint.” Charlotte became an indestructible machine and easily surpassed Shayna and Nia. Is it for the reason that is usually discussed? Decree? It was necessary in a roster in low hours, but the way seems to me that it was completely inadequate.

TLC Match for the Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs Kevin Owens

Great combat. More on the part of Owens than Reigns. Very satisfied with the show they gave. The story told with great coherence and the stipulation very well used. An Owens that exemplified an “I want and I can’t.” When he was close to achieving glory, Jey Uso would come and ruin the moment. If it wasn’t Jey, it was Roman. He made it difficult for Reigns in a clear 2vs1. The Tribal Chief had to resort to a low blow to retain. In general, I fight brutal spots. A lot of intensity at all times. Note: 8.5

Roman Reigns: He was rushed, but he’s still The Head Of The Table

He was surprised by an Owens, seized with rage and, I confess, that at times I thought Kevin would win the Universal Championship. He needed Jey Uso to win and he was dominant in very specific sections. Owens weakened him with a Powerbomb on a table and with chairs left and right. Stay on top.

Kevin Owens: Through thick and thin, he stayed close

He gave a good fight. Owens did not disappoint and submitted a Roman who had a really bad time. He got rid of Reigns and Jey, and as he mentioned before, he thought for a few seconds, that he would win the title. He told the story very well. He was getting rid of rivals, but it was never enough and he knew he would be close, although he would not make it. He had too many obstacles on the way and in the end, after a low blow, he succumbed. Despite that, his performance was impeccable.

Firefly Inferno Match: The Fiend vs Randy Orton

Moments like this leave you speechless. Their rivalry, the best of RAW and it is a shame that it has “closed” in TLC. It has WrestleMania wood. Slow combat at first, which began to pick up the pace when The Fiend unleashed himself and used his powers to set the compound ablaze. The aura was spectacular. Bray Wyatt’s alter ego was in its natural habitat and Randy, trapped. The lighter, initially an unimportant object, had its relevance and no wonder.

The moment The Viper sat on the rocking chair was reminiscent of when Orton himself set Wyatt’s shelter on fire. The Fiend was about to turn it to ashes. By the way, the presence of fire in this combat is very symbolic and coherent. Great closing of the night that ended in style. The Fiend, carbureted and Randy, defeating his worst nightmare? Note: 8.75

Randy Orton – With fire, he defeated his worst enemy.

He played, in many moments of the match, with The Fiend. He knew he had little to do in melee and gave the shadowy creature room. For an instant, he went back to 2017 when The Fiend gave him his own medicine. We don’t really know how Randy managed to get his rival into the hot zone.

The Fiend’s body was engulfed in flames, but he still didn’t beat himself up and like a divine force, he stepped into the ring and took an RKO. Randy knew he had only one recourse left with which to finish off The Fiend. Moment of the gas tank and the match burning. Orton knew how to play his weapons and was victorious.

The Fiend: burned. His spirit was charred.

Always hooks The Fiend. From when the lights began to dim until his body burned. You have to take into account Wyatt’s audacity when exposing himself to that. Few fighters do this kind of thing and Bray didn’t hesitate. A man of pure wrestling. It is to be thankful. A positive point is also that he is no longer an indestructible character. He is not affected by many hits, but he is no longer as immune as before. Although, it is still that supernatural being that you must set on fire to defeat him. We already know what was in the ring at the end of the contest. Logical, no? I still like The Fiend and am looking forward to seeing their Road To WrestleMania.

We go with the global note of the show. Without a doubt, it enters my TOP3 PPV’s of the year. We had less relevant fights like Sasha vs. Carmella and the RAW Tag Team Championship match, but the decisions were very wise. Charlotte came back and took everything ahead. The best of the evening, of course, were the KO vs Roman, AJ Styles vs Drew McIntyre and the Firefly Inferno Match with The Fiend’s body on fire. We started with the Road to WrestleMania and the year has ended in the best way, after so much disaster. Note: 8.75
