WWDC 2021: New features for Safari, Health, Plans and iMessage

What we do know is that we don’t know much about what Apple will unveil during WWDC! Unlike some years when new versions of operating systems were already largely deflowered before the keynote of the developer conference, this year the rumors have been very weak.

Joanna Stern is not the type to do in the noise of the hallways, which is why it is strange to see the journalist of the Wall Street Journal reveal, without too much oratorical precaution, that big updates would be in the pipes for Safari, Health, Plans and iMessage.

To iMessage, it seems pretty obvious that Apple is planning something big: there are a lot of references to instant messaging in WWDC communication, whether it’s visuals or hashflag used on Twitter. Not sure we see the software coming to Android, however there may be an option to remove messages as we see everywhere else.

With iOS 14 and macOS Big Sur, Safari has had a big update, and this year Apple should therefore continue its momentum. Perhaps with a strengthening of confidentiality measures. We would also like better support for PWAs, which would make life easier for streaming game services, but does Apple really want that?

The Health application remains unknown to many users even though it is very useful… But still a little convoluted. Is an ergonomic and interface effort to be expected?

It will also be necessary to monitor whether the possible novelties brought to Health will make it possible to guess la Series 7 de l’Apple Watch, which could integrate new sensors (glucometer?). Finally, for Plans, the novelties are very regular and do not wait for the great mass of the WWDC, suddenly we are very curious to know what is hidden in the big hat of Apple. Answer next Monday!

To be completely complete, there were these few indiscretions of Mark Gurman, of Bloomberg, especially concerning iPadOS 15 (read: iOS 15: new home screen also for iPads and finer management of notifications).
