The virus tries to outsmart people in this way. It is all the more important to maintain the hygiene measures and promote vaccinations. Those who do not want to be vaccinated have to be convinced. Especially with the argument that they are also protected against infections with mutants and thus make a contribution for everyone.
Vaccines are supposed to work:
According to the current status, the corona vaccines should work against the delta variant as well as against other mutants, but in some cases probably less than against the original form of the virus. Fully vaccinated people who become infected and become seriously ill will remain an exception, explained Stich.
Prepare for autumn:
According to Stich, preparations for autumn have to start now. It is now time to develop clever concepts for dealing with the pandemic. This should also be discussed with everyone involved – for example the health department. People should not be burdened by the measures. Stich himself has an idea for such a concept, but did not want to name it.
The Robert Koch Institute assumes on Thursday that almost half of the new corona infections this week are due to the delta variant. Figures on the respective share of the infection rate are not available from the region. Stich suspects that the spread in Würzburg will be similar.
