A major fire broke out on the Naturheilinsel in Würzburg on Tuesday evening. Several huts and a shed were on fire. As far as is known, no one was injured.
The fire caused heavy smoke to develop in the Randersackerer Straße area, and the flames were also visible from afar.
The fire brigade was in action with almost 90 forces. Water was pumped out of the Main to extinguish the fire. It was sometimes problematic that gas bottles and several petrol cans were stored in the huts.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
Not the first fire at the Naturheilverein
It is not the first fire that has occupied the Naturheilverein, to which the garden huts there belong. Already in 2019 and 2015 several huts burned on the natural healing island. At least in 2019, the police assumed arson.
It was not until the end of January that the clubhouse of the naturopathic association in the Sanderau district was the target of an arson attack.
