In addition, the virus does not adhere to city and county borders, said Kurzai. Therefore, a high vaccination quota is important and good – for an effective fight against the pandemic, however, the vaccination quota across a region is more decisive. Even with a 75 percent vaccination quota, the virus still has enough opportunities to spread, says Kurzai. In addition, in the Main-Spessart district, for example, the vaccination rate is still two-thirds of the population, i.e. almost ten percent below the Würzburg value.
