Würzburg gymnasts return with success

On May 28th the Bavarian Championships took place in Pfuhl (Neu-Ulm). The SB DJK Würzburg was represented by Julius Hartrich in the 19+ age group. In the championship class, which is about qualifying for the German championships, he was among the front runners and showed very good performances. As a result, Hartrich fought his way into fourth place with 71.75 points.

Due to injury, optimal preparation was not possible. That’s why the Würzburger had to resort to an easier exercise on the floor, for example. Above all on parallel bars, however, he delivered an exercise at the highest level and received 12,550 points for this. Hartrich was looked after and supported by his training partners and trainers Jakob Glück and Paul Stöhr.

At the same time as the Bavarian championship, the male Bayern Cup was taking place in Unterföhring. The two DJK gymnasts Leo Hien and Julian Burzer were also part of the party. Hien put in a flawless competition in the 16/17 age group and eventually clinched 1st place with a score of 73,900 points and a comfortable 4,500 point margin over the runner-up. Hien demonstrated his skills especially on floor (13.8 points), high bar (12.1) and parallel bars (13.5) and achieved the daily highest score of all age groups on all three devices.

Qualified for the Germany Cup

His teammate Burzer started in the 18+ age group and also presented an excellent competition. In the end he ended up in 3rd place with 67,100 points. He showed convincing exercises especially on the horizontal bar and on the horse and received the highest rating in his age group there.
