Wuling Honggang Mini Electric Car Soon to be Produced in Indonesia : Okezone Otomotif

WULING Hongguang is an electric car made in China which is currently the best-selling electric car. Launched in July 2020, this car has sold more than 370,000 units.

In July 2021, Wuling Hongguang’s tiny car has already been paved in Indonesia with a carrier truck. However, his presence was not welcomed because it was not yet official.

Launching from China Daily, Thursday (30/9/2021), a company executive at the World New Energy Vehicle Congress stated that the car will start production in Indonesia in 2022.

The Wuling Hongguang MINI EV is the best-selling electric model in China, the world’s largest new energy vehicle market. The model even beat the Tesla Model 3 as the world’s most popular electric car in the first few months of this year.

Shao Jie, the company’s executive, said that the manufacturer will present several electric car models built on the automaker’s GSEV platform.

“Starting in 2022, we will launch several models built on the GSEV platform simultaneously in the Chinese and overseas markets,” Shao said in an interview.

However, Shao did not mention the location, location and name of the country where the first car was launched.

But he explained that for his plan the tiny EV car might arrive and start production of EV models with the GSEV platform in Indonesia starting at the end of 2022.

This was obtained thanks to the assistance and support from Wuling in the country, SAIC Motor and also the Indonesian government in supporting the acceleration of electric cars for the sake of the modern era of electrification.

“We will actively participate in the formulation of relevant NEV policies and industry standards. And we will share our experience in this segment with the Indonesian government to encourage local development of the segment,” the automaker said in a statement earlier this year.
