Wuhan hit by a tornado, 40 people injured

WUHAN, KOMPAS.com – At least 40 people were injured and many people reported missing when Hurricane crashing Wuhan, China.

Extreme weather hit the capital of Hubei Province on Friday (14/5/2021), at 20:40 local time.

The tornado reportedly saw trees fall and a construction shed collapsed, it was reported Daily Mail.

Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that at least 40 people were injured, although the condition was not serious.

Meanwhile, the Wuhan authorities said they had received reports of at least six people missing.

The viral video shows objects flying, and residents trying to save their belongings.

While uncommon, China has been hit several times by destructive tornadoes. As in 2016, 99 people died in this natural event.

As well as in Wuhan, the natural disaster also hit Suzhou, a city located in Jiangsu Province, on Friday.

Wuhan, with a population of 11 million, is known worldwide as the first cluster corona virus at the end of 2019.
