JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV- There are many questions about the Rp. 10,000 banknote with the words ‘Open BO’ being the talk on social media. Bank Indonesia (BI) immediately spoke up regarding this matter.
Previously, an upload showed a photo of Rp. 10,000 with the words ‘Open BO’ on Sukoharjo Makmur’s private Facebook group, Friday (12/31/2021).
“Duek kok di tulisi nginiki piye to ki (How come the money is written like this, how is it),” said the narration written by the account owner.
As of Saturday (1/1/2022) evening, the uploads got more than 84 like and at least 41 comments from netizens on Facebook.

Launch Kompas.com, Saturday (1/1), BI also spoke up. Director of the BI Communications Department Junanto Herdiawan appealed to the public to keep and not toss out rupiah notes.
The public is also asked to always keep the rupiah as the state currency of the Republic of Indonesia so that it needs to be treated properly.
“Love, be proud, understand rupiah by not folding, scribbling, and stapling,” said Junanto.
Meanwhile, for those who often scribble on rupiah notes, be careful, there is a threat of criminal sanctions.
This, said Junanto, is regulated in Law (UU) Number 7 of 2011 Article 35 concerning Currency.
