WoW: Shadowlands breaks all records at Blizzard and beyond. It is the best selling PC game of all time.
World of Warcraft Shadowlands has been active for a good two weeks and numerous players frolic in Shadowlands. If many WoW players doubted the expansion’s success, at least the launch should be the most successful Blizzard has ever reported.
3.7 million buyers in 24 hours
What was said In a press release, Blizzard announced how well World of Warcraft Shadowlands sold in the first 24 hours. The result is impressive, because World of Warcraft Shadowlands has been purchased more than 3.7 million times, and only in the first 24 hours. This also includes pre-orders, after all Shadowlands could be reserved months before the official launch to have some bonuses and perks in the game.
This makes World of Warcraft the “best-selling PC game of all time”, the best-selling PC game.
Blizzard was able to put its own records in place. Diablo III moves to second place (3.5 million on Day 1) and WoW: Legion to third place (3.3 million on Day 1).

Corona does its part: Of course, it should not be forgotten that due to the current corona pandemic, more people are turning to entertainment in the form of computer games. But even with this knowledge, sales of 3.7 million copies on day 1 are a huge success.

Will the success continue? It remains to be seen if World of Warcraft Shadowlands can keep players going for months to come and build on its success. The first season of Shadowlands starts tomorrow and then the content of the final game has to convince. The pacts and Torghast alone are likely to promise content for many weeks leading up to 2021.
It remains to be seen if there will be enough supplies quickly and players will stay motivated for a long time. There should at least be more information in BlizzConline 2021.
