Wow! Samsung Galaxy S21 will support 5G networks in Indonesia – all pages

Samsung Indonesia ensures that the flagship smartphone Galaxy S21 Series will be a 5G smartphone Samsung first in Indonesia.

“The Galaxy S21 which entered Indonesia already supports 5G and can also be used if abroad,” said Product Marketing Samsung Electronics Indonesia, M. Taufiq Furqan.

Unfortunately, the 5G Galaxy S21 feature cannot be used in Indonesia in the meantime, given that the implementation of 5G network services and commercialization in Indonesia has not yet started.

Taufiq explained Samsung The Galaxy S21 5G uses Sub-6 technology, namely 5G technology which uses frequencies below the 6 GHz spectrum.

The 5G frequency prepared in Indonesia itself is 2.3 GHz, which means it is included in Sub-6.

This is the difference between Samsung The Galaxy S21 5G was released in Indonesia, with S21 5G in several other countries, which uses mmWave technology.

“This (Galaxy S21 5G) support yesterday was auctioned off by the government (frequency 2.3 GHz). In Indonesia we use the Sub-6,” said Taufiq.

Sub-6 technology itself has now been adopted by several countries in the world, as an initial step in deploying 5G networks, such as the United States, China, the European Union, Japan and South Korea.

Currently there are two 5G frequency spectrums in use around the world, namely mmWave and sub-6GHz. MmWave refers to the radio frequency spectrum between 24 GHz-40 GHz.

The frequency generates a very large bandwidth and is claimed to have a higher speed. Meanwhile, Sub-6 refers to the mid and low frequencies below the 6 GHz spectrum.

The Indonesian government itself has actually prepared a middle band frequency band of 2.6 Ghz – 3.5 Ghz as the ideal place to deploy 5G. However, the 2.3 Ghz frequency band is considered by the Indonesian government to be still suitable for deploying the fifth generation network.

In addition to the readiness of telecommunications operators, 5G needs to be supported by an ecosystem of devices that can connect to the network.

About this, several chip manufacturers have also started to come up with design references for 5G smartphones. However, the availability of the device certainly depends on each manufacturer.
