National player Julian Draxler has to worry about his squad place at Paris St. Germain. According to the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe”, the French top club around Neymar and Kylian Mbappe should have ten stars on the strike list, including Draxler.
New coach Christophe Galtier and sporting director Luis Campos want to thin out the squad of the French champions by the start of the season. Draxler, whose contract in Paris runs until 2024, was one of four professionals not allowed to go on a preparatory trip to Japan.

The 28-year-old only started preparing on July 11 after having knee surgery in April. Besides him, Ander Herrera, Georginio Wijnaldum and Layvin Kurzawa also have to stay at home.

Last season, Draxler only managed two goals and one assist in 18 appearances. The 2014 world champion has been playing for the Parisians since 2017 and has won the championship four times during that period.
