Born on December 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, young Allan Stewart Konigsberg grew up in the midst of a colorful family. Her parents, “as badly matched as Hannah Arendt and Frank Sinatra”, agree on absolutely nothing. The father, still broke, playing daily at the casino; her mother, a “serious woman with a heart of liquid nitrogen”, runs the barracks. Around the age of five, the boy is subjected to an IQ test, the impressive result of which does not prevent him from being zero in class, preferring to study conjuring, playing cards and dice. At the same time, he painfully became aware of his mortal condition.
