Wonder Woman & Co defy Corona: News from the DC universe

“The Batman” is slated to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. A trailer now released promises a dark story set in the early years of the character’s development, as director Matt Reeves told industry media. In addition to Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoe Kravitz can be seen as Batwoman and Colin Farrell as the villain “Penguin”.

One year before the Batman spectacle, on October 2, 2020, “Wonder Woman 1984” is due to hit theaters. The cinema release was originally scheduled for August 14th, but was postponed due to the corona pandemic. As part of the “DC Fandome”, the creators affirmed that they wanted to keep a theatrical release – unlike blockbusters like the real-life version of Disney’s “Mulan”, the start of which was partially outsourced to the Disney + channel.

“Wonder Woman 1984”, the sequel to the successful DC flick from 2017, is set during the Cold War. As in 2017, the lead role is played by Gal Gadot, directed by Patty Jenkins.
