“Due to the arrest of the photojournalist Agata Grzybowska during the performance of her journalistic duties, I submitted a notification to the District Police Headquarters in Warszawa 1 (at Wilcza Street) about the possibility of police committing a crime under Art. 44 of the Press Law (obstruction or suppression of press criticism) and 231 of the Criminal Code (police violation of powers), wrote Marcin Lewicki, president of the board of Press Club Polska.

Spokesman of the General Police Headquarters, insp. Mariusz Ciarka said on Monday evening on TVN24 that the police did not know that Agata Grzybowska was a journalist, despite showing them her ID at the time of arrest. – The lady started showing her ID when she was already led to the police car and she did not do it calmly, she struggled – he said in Polsat News.

On Tuesday, on the radio TOK FM, Mariusz Ciarka added that the photojournalist “attacked the policeman by flashing her flash at him”.

“I am waiting until journalists ask uncomfortable questions to representatives of the authorities as an offense,” wrote Jacek Nizinkiewicz from “Rzeczpospolita”.

“Where and in what hospital can you visit this law enforcement officer?” – ironises Paweł Wroński from “Gazeta Wyborcza”.

“After the words that the journalist maliciously flashed the policeman with a flash in the face (is this how she violated his inviolability ?!) the commander-in-chief should seriously consider whether his spokesman should still be Mr. Mariusz. Well, unless he decides that this is an expression for a promotion “- wrote Jacek Harłukowicz from” Gazeta Wyborcza “.

“Consistent lowering of the authority of the formation which used to enjoy the greatest social trust” – said Michał Szczerba, MP from KO.

“A little known fact: if Mr. Ciarka was a PiS MP, and Mr. Fogiel was a police spokesman, no one would notice the difference” – wrote Michał Danielewski from oliwia.press. Radosław Fogiel said today on TVN24 that “journalists are not above the law”.
