The coach did not miss the boat! Ex-pro and international player in the Republic of Congo (more than 600 selections), Clarisse Opondzo (49) convinced Blanzat Sport Montluçon (Allier) to make her the new coach of the first team, in National 1 women of handball.
The choice
Remember that the place was released following the departure of Franck Arbonville, due to a financial disagreement. So we had to find a replacement. Or a replacement. “Representatives from the Congo knew that we were looking for someone and told us about Clarisse,” says Didier Braud, president of the BSM.
“We then discussed her with our former player Gisèle Donguet, who knows her well, then we contacted her directly”. And the current passed. “She is rigorous and wants to stick to the club’s project without having preconceived ideas”, judges the manager. “That’s what tipped the balance.” And that led to the signing of a permanent contract.

The first words
“Last season I trained the U18 girls of Saint-Renan-Guilers (Finistère), I wanted something else, to come back as a professional! “, says Clarisse Opondzo. “The opportunity for Montluçon presented itself, Gisèle Donguet told me that it was a family club, I discussed with Didier Braud and I accepted”.
