Serious accident in Vienna-Bigittenau at Höchstädtplatz on Thursday evening: Around 6.45 p.m., a woman of about 70 years suffered a circulatory collapse and fell backwards. At the same moment the tram of line 31 came and caught the Viennese. The Bim driver was unable to stop in time despite the emergency braking being initiated immediately.
Patient in “critical condition”
Several emergency and fire service personnel were on site. “The patient was immediately given emergency medical care and was brought to the nearest hospital with critical injuries in critical condition,” said rescue spokesman Andreas Huber “Today”. As Wiener Linien spokeswoman Michaela Linke reports, the accident happened directly in the bus stop area: “The driver is currently receiving psychological care.”
Due to a rescue operation, line 2 only ran between Dornbach and Höchstädtplatz. Operation of line 31 was not possible between Jägerstraße and Floridsdorf. Line 33 also only ran between Josefstädter Straße and Jägerstraße. Alternatively, you can switch to the U6 line and the S-Bahn.
