Wasserburg (dpa / lby) – A woman was hit by a train on Saturday at a level crossing in Wasserburg on Lake Constance and died.
According to the first findings of the police, she ran onto the track with the half-barrier closed. As the police said, the train driver was unable to prevent a collision despite braking hard. The woman died on the spot of her serious injuries. The 27 train passengers were not injured. The woman’s identity was initially unknown, but could be clarified after relatives reported to the police after the accident became known. The woman comes from the region, the police did not provide further information.
