The victim went to the SQ station at around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to request police assistance in forcing her son to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
His death was pronounced on Monday morning at Sainte-Croix Drummondville hospital.
According to a statement issued by the Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI), her son had been staying with her for several weeks.
“The police could not assist the lady in her request immediately, she would then go back to work”, indicates the press release of the BEI.
It was a call from a relative who led the police from the Sûreté du Québec to Pinard Street in Drummondville around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning to go and check the state of health of the 57-year-old woman. of which she had no news.
“On arrival at the scene, the police reportedly discovered the woman who had requested assistance the day before, seriously injured, inside her residence. The woman would have been transported to a hospital, where her death was declared, ”explains the BEI.
If the SQ had started the investigation and then proceeded to question an individual in his thirties, the investigation was transmitted to the BEI at around 4:15 p.m.
