Woman Dies in Edgware Fire

A woman has died after a house fire in north London.

Firefighters were called to the fire at a Hillside Gardens, Edgware, terraced house at 4:43am on Saturday, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.

The woman was found on the ground floor of the building and was pronounced dead at the scene.

About 20 firefighters and three fire trucks from the Mill Hill, Stanmore and Harrow fire stations battled the blaze and brought it under control less than an hour later at 5:41 am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police and the LFB.
