Woman with the initials LY (33) in Musi Banyuasin (Muba), South Sumatra, was arrested by the police after cutting off the genitals of her husband, Rian Hidayat (33). To the police, the perpetrator admitted that he was determined to carry out the action because he was upset about being forced into polygamy.
“Yes, that’s the information we got from the person concerned, they had been in contact (LY admitted that he had had sex with the victim before the incident),” said Muba Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Bondan Try Hoetomo as reported detikSumbagselTuesday (5/3/2024).
Bondan said that before the incident, the two of them were involved in an argument for about 4 hours, from 19.00 to 23.00 WIB. This, said Bondan, was also acknowledged by LY.
“Yes, it was true that there was an argument for several hours, he also admitted (LY),” he said.
The trigger for the quarrel, he continued, was because LY was upset about being disappointed by Rian, even though they had been married for 12 years. This was because Rian had openly asked LY to accept the fact that Rian had had an unregistered marriage with an actor not far from their house.
Then, what made LY’s emotions peak was when Rian asked his wife to call the woman to say that she was willing to accept polygamy. Hearing this, LY became increasingly dissatisfied and tried to hold back her anger until finally the perpetrator cut off her husband’s genitals.
