Witness: There were two women in Semerdzhiev’s jeep, one of them said: “Hurry up, we killed people” – Crimes – Bulgaria – NOVA News

The hearing in the case against Georgi Semerdzhiev, the defendant for the accident on Cherni Vrah Boulevard in the capital, which took place on July 5 last year and claimed the lives of two young women, continued today with the questioning of witnesses.

During the hearing in the Sofia City Court, one of the witnesses – Mario Gyuzelev, who was driving a motorcycle near the scene of the accident and was a direct witness of what happened, said that according to him, there were two women in the black jeep, who left the scene of the accident after the impact , BTA reported. He indicated that he did not see them get out of the vehicle, which was torn apart by the impact, but heard them talking to each other as they drove away.

“Two women passed me, one holding the other. One was whining, and the other was saying: “Quick, quick, because we killed people,” Guzelev also said. According to him, he saw in the front part of the crashed car a sneaker and a handbag, which was down by the front passenger seat.

“My purpose for stopping was to help. I went to a first aid course and my first thought was to help someone if they needed first aid,” the witness added. According to his testimony, the black car ran a red light and did the same at the intersection of Bulgaria Blvd., located near the scene of the accident.

The witness also said that he did not see who was driving the car, and after the accident, only the bodies of the two women who were hit were left at the scene.

According to prosecutor Chavdar Zhelezchev, the testimony of this witness, in the part in which he claims that two other women were in the car, does not correspond with the rest of the collected evidence.

“We believe that this information is not supported by the body of evidence. For us, to a great degree of certainty, he was alone in the car,” commented the representative of the state prosecution. According to him, the witness testimony reproduces the subjective perceptions of the witnesses, and in the present proceedings the expert conclusions about the movement of the car, the speed and other circumstances surrounding the accident will be more important.

Other witnesses in the case, questioned today by the court, also confirmed the high speed of the car before the accident, as well as its passing through a red signal at the traffic light.

During today’s session, the chairman of the court panel deleted a part of the witnesses, as their testimonies are related to the same circumstances. The case is about to continue with interviews of experts and expert opinions.
