The University of Lund in Sweden has shown how cranberry helps you lose weight. This was discovered by a team led by Lovisa Heyman, after three months of experiments on a group of mice. Researchers have found that cranberry in a high-fat diet does not lead to weight gain. It also does not raise blood glucose and insulin levels in the blood, keeping them at the levels of a low-fat diet. So it’s a great food to keep diabetes under control.
But it doesn’t stop there. The study found that cranberry helps counteract the increase in blood cholesterol and fat in the liver. Scholars have specified that to benefit from these qualities, it is necessary to consume the fruit and not just drink the juice.
Bilberry also brings significant benefits to the body. A studio showed that bilberry also helps fight blood sugar levels and diabetes. University of Oklahoma scholars conducted an experiment on two groups of people with hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol. For eight weeks, the researchers gave one group water and the other a blueberry drink. This drink was equivalent to consuming 350 grams of the fresh fruit.
At the end of the 8 weeks, the group that drank the drink had a drop in blood pressure and LDL (bad) cholesterol. These findings lead scientists to suggest including blueberries in the daily fruit and vegetable diet.
