Early in the morning at 5.26 Riga Municipal Police (RPP) patrolling the streets of Pārdaugava have received a message from a resident about a suspicious youth company that had stopped at one of the 24-hour shops in Imanta with a gray third-series BMW.

An eyewitness has expressed suspicions that not only the amusing passengers of the vehicle, but also its driver may be intoxicated.

According to Valdis Kigotovičs, the chief inspector of the RPP Kurzeme administration, the nearest police crew was immediately sent to the scene.

They did not meet the young people they were looking for and the car at the indicated store, but the policemen did not give up and decided to go around the nearby streets. Soon the car he was looking for flashed in the distance.

Noticing the law enforcement, the driver ran away, but the chase did not last even a minute, because the young man behind the wheel performed a couple of unsuccessful maneuvers, as a result of which he had to give up.

Examination of the suspended young person’s personal data has revealed that he is only 17 years old, which means that he cannot have a driving license at all.

Now it is safe to say that in the coming years he will not see it as his own ears, because criminal proceedings will be initiated for this violation.

This story did not end with the handing over of the driver to the traffic police, because during the passenger check it turned out that two of the intoxicated passengers were also minors. So they returned home accompanied by the police, but administrative cases were initiated against their parents.
