A year and a half. This is the time it took Kevin Richard and his entire team to go out in the spring l’album « Airplane », A project with rap and electro pop worn by young people from Seine-Saint-Denis, of Paris but also of Nantes and even Canada.

“This project took time but it is our calling card” explains Kevin Richard before detailing: “In parallel with the album, I founded Nekketsu studio, a music production studio that does not yet have a physical location but whose DNA is to bring out new talents. These talents can be found on Airplane ”.

With the means at hand

For the recordings, the young people did it with the means at hand. “We did as we could between home studio with artists and at home,” says the artistic director.

But amateurism has no place in the final project. The products of the beatmakers Ode, Sutus and Lhab are well done, the talents of Seine-Saint-Denis 404 Sensei and Telso are there and the mixing is very good for a coherent and fresh album.

Invitation to travel and next meeting in space

Like the cover on which a plane guided by a hand sits, the album is a invitation to travel. A sometimes introspective journey as in “Mélancolie” or “Solitaire” and sometimes lighter like “Chambre 12” and “Bord de mer”.

“It’s an album for the summer, chill and quite hovering”, confirms the artistic director who already sees further. “We are working on a new project for February or March 2021, the theme will be space. We are taking our time but the goal is to take another step forward, ”he reveals.

While waiting for the next boarding, “Airplane” is available on all streaming platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, etc.).
