The Folle Journée de Nantes, a popular mass for classical music, recorded a new attendance record, the organizers announced on Sunday. In total, more than 140,000 tickets were sold during the 26th edition, which was held for five days and ends this Sunday evening.

“140,050 were sold out of the 144,195 tickets available, or 97% attendance rate, the organizers announced with precision. (…) It’s clearly a record edition. 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

A 2021 year on the theme of Russia

“The piano, the symphonies, the contemporary creations worked particularly well,” noted the organizers. Everything went so well, it was a special year in terms of attendance, concerts, proposals. This is an event that takes place today on a global level, “they said.

The theme of the 27th edition to be held next year has also been announced: it will be devoted to “Russian composers”. It must be said that for a few years, the festival has also spread abroad and an edition of “The Crazy Day” will be organized in Japan in May, in Ekaterinburg (Russia) in July and in Warsaw in September.
