With #MonthofGood, Facebook and Instagram celebrate Ramadan by honoring creators

(ETX Studio) – Ramadan Mubarak! On social networks, anonymous and celebrities wished a happy Ramadan to all Muslims both in France and internationally. The platforms have also decided to celebrate this holy month in Islam. This is the case of Facebook and Instagram which have already planned live events and even new stickers to brighten up your stories.

For a whole month, Facebook decided to relaunch its hashtag “#MonthofGood”, literally “The month of good”, on the occasion of Ramadan 2021. A holy month which symbolizes for Muslims the time for reflection and sharing. Principles that Facebook wished to put forward by collaborating with creators of the community and NGOs: “Throughout the month, we will collaborate with creators, communities, publishers and NGOs to highlight those who have impact positively in their communities and inspire others to do the same, ”Facebook explained on its blog.

The platform will notably offer a video series hosted by the director Basma Khalifa “to celebrate today’s change makers and small businesses in the Muslim community.” A panel on the milliner in Western culture and inclusiveness in the fashion world will be organized and moderated by Tahirah Hairston, director of fashion and beauty content at Teen Vogue. For the moment, no date has been communicated.

Stickers everywhere!

On the Instagram side, the platform has also planned several lives throughout the month to give voice to Muslim creators with the help of the famous hashtag #MonthofGood which will bring together these contents. The social network owned by Mark Zuckerberg has also planned new stickers, created by the artist Hala AlAbbasi to be used in particular in stories just like WhatsApp which will offer stickers designed by Murat Kalkavan. Even Facebook will offer new effects and stickers to its users on both Messenger and Messenger Kids.

The month of Ramadan remains a global event with a strong societal impact. In 2020, more than 20 million posts and comments wishing a happy Ramadan were shared on Facebook while WhatsApp observed a spike in video calls on Eid day which marks the end of the religious fast.
