Out of almost 2,000 people employed in the Oknoplast plant in Małopolska, even every third employee is to lose the attendance bonus. Reason? No COVID-19 vaccination certificate provided. The company emphasizes that it did not break the law and that it is in the interest of all employees to collect the bonus.
Oknoplast employees alarm that things are going wrong in their company . They are threatening with mass departures and the paralysis of a mighty factory. All because of vaccinations. The wages at the production lines are very low (within the limits of the national lowest), and the company has just announced that from September a large part of the staff will say goodbye to the monthly attendance bonus of PLN 400 gross.
– After 5 years of shift work, I have 3200 zlotys on hand, but I also have a tax relief for a young employee and hence the “higher salary”. Next year I will be 25 years old, so I will be earning PLN 3,000 gross (this is the lowest national value in 2022) – says Mr. Adam, an employee of the assembly line, sarcastically.
