In March last year, the European Parliament decided to follow the European Commission’s proposal. That meant no six-monthly switch between summer and winter time from 2021 onwards. But the choice of the time zone is a matter for the member states, not for Europe. And those Member States react divided.
One wants winter time, the other chooses summer time and everyone has good reasons to justify that choice. As long as there is no unanimity, there can be no question of an abolition of the scheme. What we see in Europe, we also see in our country.
