Jakarta

Team racer Red Bull Racing, sergio perez, managed to reach the podium during the Australian F1 race. The Mexican driver was saved by Max Verstappen.

While racing at the Albert Park Circuit, Melbourne, Sunday (10/4/2022), Sergio Perez won second place. Ferrari’s Charels Lecrec, who finished first after devouring 58 laps with a time of one hour 27 minutes 46.548 seconds. Perez was 20.524 seconds away.

Sergio Perez is up one place from his starting position in this race. He was able to finish second because his teammate, Verstappen failed to finish. This is Perez’s first podium of the season, before he finished 18th in Bahrain’s F1 and fourth in Saudi Arabia’s F1 race.

“This race was a bit difficult. We were a little unlucky to lose position with the exit of the safety car, which we were able to catch again. This race was a good result, but unfortunately we lost Max – it would be great to get a double podium. We were a bit lacking lucky in the first few races,” said Perez in the release received by detiksport.

Verstappen revealed that Red Bull was already looking at the F1 race at Emilia Romagna. He felt his car needed refinement.

“Even though it is in sight to reach second place. Congratulations to Perez who was able to reach the podium. We have to work hard for the next few days to overcome this, and make improvements at Imola,” said Max.

Red Bull supporter, Mobil1, also did not miss to comment. Verstappen and Perez are believed to be performing well in the next series.

“Surely this is a challenge for Max and Perez after seeing the two victories of the Ferrari drivers start the season, let alone will play in their hometown. The driver’s confidence and better performance than the RB18 will definitely win,” said Mobil1 representative Thomas Gobinyono.
