WASHINGTON – The long wait for who becomes the next President of the United States (US) has finally been answered. Democratic candidate for US President Joe Biden finally won the race.

Launching AP on Saturday (7/11/2020), Biden successfully won the election in Pennsylvania, which has 20 electoral colleges. As such, Biden has now collected 284 electoral votes, well above the minimum limit of 270.

Meanwhile, his rival, Donald Trump, is still immobile with 214 votes. With several states still making vote counts, the chances of Biden winning 300 votes are very open.

Biden has previously said he is on track to win more than 300 Electoral College votes and pointed out that more people have voted for him – more than 74 million people – than any US presidential candidate in history.

Biden said Americans have given him the mandate to tackle the Corona virus pandemic, struggling economy, climate change, and systemic racism.

The Democrat, who presents himself as a unifying figure, said it was time to remove slander from US politics and be civilian towards one another.

Biden – who previously ran twice for the White House, in 1988 and 2008, without success – became the oldest president ever sworn in at the age of 78.
