Windscreen wiper – Elon Musk’s biggest concern for Tesla Cybertruck

One of the most curious future car projects continues to be the Cybertruck – Tesla’s electric pickup, at least (or mostly, as you prefer) because of the unusual edge design.

New drone footage shows a prototype of the Cybertruck being tested at the company’s test site in Fremont, California.

This prompted Elon Musk to stop for a moment with jokes that he was thinking of giving up all his work duties and answering some questions about the future car.

“The cleaner is what worries me the most. There is no easy solution,” said Tesla’s CEO.

And really – in the video you can see that the high windshield of the electric car has an absurdly long wiper. It looks as if it can be used as a copy if needed. Lots of cyberpunk!

Musk said the ideal option would be a windshield wiper that can be retracted into the front of the car and displayed when needed, but he said it was “complicated”.

In fact, the company is trying to patent just such an electromagnetic wiper, which moves from one side of the glass to the other and retracts when not needed, according to Electrek.

And while Tesla engineers are thinking about windshield hygiene, Musk points to another point – the side mirrors, which for some users are unnecessary and can be replaced by cameras.

“Manufacturers are required by law to supply their cars with side mirrors, but owners have the right to modify their cars,” said the Tesla chief.

The video from the tests of the Cybertruck prototype shows that – hallelujah! – he can move, which is good news. There are also slight design changes – a slightly more rounded front and new headlights, but overall the look remains the same.

By that, you mean the edge like Lara Croft’s chest in a ’90s game; as a paper model, impossible to glue without right angles; as a futuristic car from a future in which there are no designers …

Tesla Cybertruck is expected no earlier than 2022, so until then we have time to continue with the comparisons.
