Windows 11 update made AMD’s problem much worse

We already know that software updates are not perfect, particularly when we talk about a major update, as happened recently with Windows 11, Microsoft’s operating system. Overall the update process went well. however there was a specific issue that harmed several users.

One of the most important issues was what happened to those with AMD Ryzen processors, where a clear performance drop compared to processors. Both Microsoft and AMD were soon aware of this problem and announced that they would already be working on a solution. But that’s not what happened with the first update to the operating system.

As usual, Microsoft regularly releases operating system updates to fix minor problems, with a clear focus on security, however these updates that became available on Tuesday 12th, worsened a problem that was already known, making making the performance of AMD processors get even worse.

The information was advanced by the website TechPowerUp, which demonstrated the same through performance tests, where a drop in performance is verified on several fronts. One of the big highlights of this situation is that with the new Windows 11 the latency was 17ns, which was already higher than what happened with Windows 10 which registered 10ns, but with this new update the latency shoots up to 31.9ns. that, in this specific test, smaller means better performance.

However, rumors suggest that the update of this issue should take place next week, on October 19, according to information published in the Reedit. However, it is a curious problem, since Microsoft has limited the processors compatible with the new Windows 11, and being these models compatible it is not acceptable that they have this problem.

We hope that these rumors are confirmed and that the resolution of this problem happens quickly, as for gamers, this performance is very bad.
