Windows 11 Spec Requirements Non-negotiable

Suara.com – Microsoft confirms that computers that do not meet spec Windows 11 will not be able to use the latest operating system.

This was confirmed by Microsoft’s Program Manager, Aria Carley, in a recent discussion session. He emphasized that the requirements of device specifications to ensure user safety.

“We know it sucks that some devices don’t qualify for Windows 11,” said Carley, quoted from BGR, Thursday (29/7/2021).

“But the thing to remember is that the reason we’re doing it is to keep devices more productive, have a better experience and better security than ever before to stay protected here.”

He continued that consumers don’t have to bother checking whether their devices meet the requirements to update to Windows 11 or determine if the update will be available on their devices. Windows will automatically check if the operating system can run on any machine.

Carley also emphasized that Windows users will not be able to cheat in order to upgrade to Windows 11. For example, modifying Group Policy to allow devices to be updated.

“Group Policy will not allow users to circumvent Windows 11 hardware rules. We will still block you from updating your device to an unsupported state because we want to make sure your device remains supported and secure,” he said.

For information, some Windows 10 users have complained that their devices do not support Windows 11 because they do not have or have not activated the module RPM 2.0.

TPM itself stands for Trusted Platform Module. TPM is in the form of a chip that is installed on the motherboard to secure encryption and secure hardware from attacks and booting.

If not, consumers can buy TPM separately. But usually automatic TPM is available on Intel or AMD chipsets released in the last five or seven years.

To check whether the laptop or computer supports TPM 2.0, users only need to type “tpm.msc” in the Windows 10 search field or type in the Windows + R shortcut.

Users will be directed to TPM Management on Local Computer. If the status says “The TPM is ready for use”, then the device is supported.
