Windows 11: Now you can go back to the Windows 10 context menu

Windows 11 greatly simplified the context menu making it less dense. Thus removed many options that placed in a sub-menu called show more options. However, not all people liked this and some are even desperate to put things back the way they were. If that’s you then we have good news! There are two ways to do it. Either through the registered or via a small application.

Thus it is possible to restore the previous Windows 10 context menu by setting the following registry key and restarting the file explorer.

However we also have the Windows 11 Classic Context Menu v1.0 which was developed by Sordum and which automates the task and does everything with just a single click.

In fact it is a very small app and it has command line support.

Version 1.0 can be downloaded on here.

In addition to being able to change the context menu it is also possible to change a lot more things with other applications.

The Start menu is perhaps the most controversial aspect of the Windows 11 design. Microsoft moved away from live tiles and removed several customization options in the Start menu. However you can bring back most things with Start11. Furthermore, a future update will even bring the option to drag the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen. It costs 5.99 Euros. StartIsBack: another of the apps to customize everything in Windows 11

The preview version of StartIsBack is free, at least for now, and includes very interesting functions. That said, we have a classic design for the toolbar with the option to make it look like the Windows 10 or Windows 7. But we can do more things, including in File Explorer. That said, it’s possible to replace the new Windows 11 interface with the banner that was in Windows 10 and Windows 7.

But of course the focus is on the Start menu. So with StartIsBack we get a classic start menu that works similarly to what happened in Windows 7. But it goes even further. It is possible to choose or not for round corners as in Windows 11, or sharper as in Windows 10. It is also possible to put everything the same as Windows 7. At the same time we can customize colors.
