Windows 10 Insider Preview hides “3D Objects” folder

On February 24th, Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 21322 (RS_PRERELEASE) on the Dev channel (Windows Insider Blog ArticlesGhacks articleSoftpedia articleBeta News Articles)。

In this build, the “3D Object” folder is no longer displayed in “Folder” in “PC” of Explorer. The 3D Objects folder will be the default data folder for 3D applications in 2017Added in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709)However, it seems that few users are using it. Even in the articles that introduce this matter, expressions such as “meaningless functions” and “functions that no one is using” stand out.

The “3D Objects” folder just disappears from the list of special folders, and the actual folder is still accessible from the user profile folder. For easy access, you can enter “% userprofile%” in the address box of Explorer and select “Show All Folders” in the navigation window options. When saving a file as a 3D model for the first time with Paint 3D, the “3D Object” folder was selected as the save destination by default in this build as well.
