Will the Czechs sew the veils again? The office revealed what it looks like with supplies

During the emergency, veils were a scarce commodity. The State Administration of Material Reserves did not anticipate such a strong epidemic intervention. “What we had in the warehouses was removed from storage during the emergency. Specifically, there were 10,000 goggles, 10,000 protective suits and 10,000 respirators of the highest class,” said the State Administration of Material Reserves.

“The state administration was given the task of purchasing protective equipment for two months of crisis consumption,” said Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES).

“At the moment, we have a total of 11 open tenders, we have received over 190 offers, which we evaluate. And as soon as we evaluate them, we conclude purchase contracts and then the right time comes for the reserves to be gradually replenished,” the administration specified.

The stocks of the State Administration of Material Reserves before the emergency were insufficient. The order should therefore be several times higher now. “For example, for FFP3 class respirators, which had 10,000 units in our warehouses before the emergency, we announced a tender for 1.1 million units, which means that the numbers will be incomparably higher,” the report said.

Even before the crisis, you could buy a veil in a pharmacy for only three crowns. During the emergency, the price increased up to a hundredfold and, moreover, it was almost impossible to get them. Now it will cost you about 25 crowns and you can get it in every pharmacy. This also applies to other protective equipment.
